Bluff Magazines Poker Player of The Year Race Gets Hotter

With 2006 quickly drawing to a close, the Bluff Magazine poker Player of the Year is getting more and more votes. Ten pro poker players are still in the running including popular names John Juanda, David Williams, Gavin Smith and Barry Greenstein.

"Winning the 2006 Bluff Player of the Year Award would be a tremendous honor", said Gavin Smith, reigning third placer in Bluff's Player of the Year Standings.

"Bluff's poker standings are a true measure of a poker player's performance over the course of a year. I'm hopeful I will play well enough in the remaining tournaments over the next three months to earn this award."

The rankings for the Player of the Year will be based on results of the major tournaments that took place on 2006. The tournaments must have at least a $5,000 buy-in with at least 100 entrants. In all the tournaments, the players must finish in the money to get points.

The top placer in Bluff Magazine's player of the year is considered by many to be the best player for the world in that calendar year.

"The Bluff Player of the Year will come down to the last major events in 2006. Any one of ten players can win and it will be exciting to watch the action as the top players in the world vie for the Bluff Player of the Year," said Eric Morris, publisher of Bluff Magazine.
